Webinar Description

In her book, Parenting without Panic, Brenda Dater, Associate Director, AANE , outlines the principles that parents of children and teens with Aspergers can follow to build a sense of resilience and bravery in themselves and in their children. In this Parenting without Power webinar, Michele Cantara, Director of AANE Family Support Services for Adults expands on those principles. Michele is the parent of young man with Aspergers who is moving forward to reach his life goals. At AANE she coaches parents and hosts parents of adult support groups.  Previously, Michele spent 35 years in high technology and management consulting. This webinar combines her insights into organizational change management and transformation with the real-life challenges of parenting an adult on the spectrum. She provides pragmatic advice for parents who have tried “tough love” and then realize that parenting with power often backfires. In this webinar Michele outlines 10 principles for parenting through influence, so that parents of adults on the spectrum can help their adult child move towards their life goals.
